How to Choose the Right Size Art Print for Your Space

October 04, 2026

Choosing a print you love is the easy part. Choosing the right size is where most people freeze — and it's the difference between art that sings in a room and art that gets lost on the wall. Here's my simple guide, from one art lover to another.

The golden rule: go bigger than you think

Almost everyone underestimates. A print that looks generous on your phone screen can feel postage-stamp small on a real wall. When in doubt, size up — art needs presence to work its magic.

My prints, from intimate to statement

My art prints come in six sizes, all with a vertical composition:

  • 8" x 12" — intimate and tender. Perfect for a bedside table, a reading nook, or as part of a gallery wall.
  • 12" x 18" — the sweet spot for smaller rooms, hallways, and desks.
  • 16" x 24" — a confident medium. Lovely above a dresser, in a home office, or a cozy living room.
  • 22" x 34" — now we're making a statement. Ideal as the anchor of a living room or bedroom wall.
  • 24" x 36" — gallery presence. This size holds its own in large, open spaces.
  • 32" x 48" — the full experience. For collectors and big, beautiful walls that deserve something extraordinary.

Measure first, fall in love second

Grab some painter's tape and mark the dimensions on your wall before you order. Stand back. Live with the outline for a day. Your future self will thank you.

A note on framing

All of my prints arrive unframed, in standard sizes — so finding a frame is easy, whether you love ornate gold, simple black, or natural wood. If you're hanging a large piece, consider a mat: it gives the artwork room to breathe and makes even a modest print feel museum-worthy.
